It's Christmas Day - December 25, 2011

Another year again. It's Christmas season and on this day I woke up feeling quite unwell with a little running nose and throat feeling uncomfortable. Went to Christ Church this year. Before I move further of what's on my mind, here's few shots of Elsa after 1.00 am. Elsa and Elly will be 1 year old soon or maybe they already turned 1 by now.

Woke up quite late in the morning but I forgot what was the time when I opened my eyes. Did not want to be one of the last person to be in Church so we just had something light for breakfast. I ordered a cup of hot milo at one of the nearby coffee shop.

After that we went straight to church. We were surprised as we were one of the earliest to arrive. The sermon for the day was all about John 3:16. Service started at around 10.15am and ended before 12.00 noon. We had fellowship makan-makan and minum-minum. I got to know few new friends from there. One of them was Wai-Sze. We chatted a while before going home.

After that, I went to Ren-Aun Medical Hall to get some medicine for flu and to ease my throat.

Some photos taken at Siew Har's house during a quick rehearsal/Christmas Songs by the youth. Oops! do excuse me for the poor photos snapped. Maybe I should practice morein handling a camera.

Went home before 10.00 pm. We were tired when we reached home but had a good time.

Some photos of she, her and them.

One more photo of Elsa and Elly before I say good night. Till another post.

I am home for Christmas

Hello again, here I am posting another post. Although I have not been feeling well since this evening after dinner. I did not want to delay further as I might have many more posts waiting in line.

First, I would like to wish everyone a very Blessed Christmas.

I took the 9.35am flight home yesterday. The flight delayed a little but I was glad everything went smoothly and we arrived LCCT at 11.40am. On the way home we dropped by Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. I did not buy anything from there and it was just window shopping for me.

Our lunch. Porridge of three types. Will order the three of them again during my next visit.

We reached home after dark. We had claypot rice before going home. Till another post. My nose is giving some problem to me again.

Happy Dong Zhi or Happy Winter Solstice Festival everyone!

Hi, today I was supposed to be back home but when i double checked again to confirmed, I realized I've booked the wrong date so I will be only going home tomorrow. Just had lunch today and the menu was braised chicken in dark soya sauce.

Happy Dong Zhi everyone! Eat thong yuen today and you will get a year older. That was what I've been taught since I was a child.

After waking up and had shower, I went downstairs and a bowl of "thong yuen or tāngyuán" was already waiting for me to have it for breakfast. Ever since I was a child I came to understand that eat the thong yuen means getting a year older. The main ingredient for making thong yuen is glutinuous rice. It is cooked in a gingery sweetened soup. Add in some pandan leaves will make the soup more fragrant.
Click here to know more about the history of Dong Zhi
After breakfast I prepared the ingredients for lunch. Now what's for lunch. Daily question of what I will be having for lunch and dinner. Menu of the day is Braised Chicken in Soya Sauce. Yesterday when I was at the market I ordered a plate of char kueh toay. Supposed to be Penang char kuey teow. When the plate was taken to me, I was surprised to see a fried "bull's eye" on the kuey teow. This was the first time I really had this type of "Penang Char Kuey teow". Really not tasty at all. I will not order that again in future. The next time I want to eat "Penang Char Kuey Teow", I will go to Penang or somewhere else but definately not here at this stall.

My right arm suddenly feeling discomfort again. I must have strained the muscles. It is a bit painful when I tried lifting it up. Could it be due to too much house work today? Talking about house work, I received a message from home that we have a young helper at home. She helped to washed the floor. Want to know who she is?

This is Yan Leng our young new helper at home. I've known this little girl for few months and it was like I already knew her since she was born. Wanted to write more here but my right arm can't really move properly so I will just end here and till another post when I am back home.

Photos of the three bowls of thong yuen given by three different neighbours. I wonder which one tasted the best. No matter how they tasted, it's the heart that counts. I already asked Eunice to keep a few of the thong yuen in the fridge for me.

Special thanks to the source

Lunch hour at in Shanghai - At a Thai Restaurant

After we had our lunch we went to Nanjing Road known as "First Street in China". We were supposed to enjoy our free time for shopping (I do not understand we were only given one hour to shop for our things. What could I do within such a short period?) and Chenghuang Temple Bazaar/Shanghai Yuyuan Tourist Mart to shop for souvenirs. Nanjing Road is the world's longest shopping district and the distanceis around 6 km long. We did not have much time and I only bought a few key chains and two tshirts.

Photos taken while waiting for our coach to arrive. Next spot - Dinner place.

After dinner we were transfer to Shanghai Pudong International Airport for our flight back to Singapore Changi International Airport.

Day 08 - Singapore/Kuching

We staed overnight on flight and had our early breakfast on board. Then we took another flight back Kuching. (Did not take any pictures at the airport as my camera was running out of battery). We arrived Kuching at around 10.30am.
