Simple recipe for two meals - Dark soya sauce boneless chicken with eggs cooked in dried chillies and curry leaves

Boneless chicken cooked in dried chillies and curry leaves.

Last night before I went to bed, I asked myself if I should cook the following day. Did not realized I already dozed off before I could thought of anything yet.

When I woke up this morning, I looked at the sky and it was quite gloomy. Feeling lazy to to buy groceries at Boulevard Hypermarket although it is very near our place so I thought I might find something in the kitchen and fridge to cook. I was a little happy when I saw two pieces of boneless drumsticks in the freezer that I bought from Ta Kiong at The Spring last Wednesday. Hope they are still fresh for me to cook. I searched for the ingredients that were available and I found:

1. some dried curry leaves (forgot how long they have been in the fridge drawer
2. some left over young ginger.
3. carrot
4. chicken sausages in the freezer.
5. eggs

Then I took out some dried chillies and two big onions as the main ingredients.

After an hour this is the new recipe i invented. Dark soya sauce boneless chicken with eggs cooked in dried chillies/big onions/carrots and curry leaves.

Mamee Chef Curry Laksa Flavour as first meal on a sunny morning - How to make instant noodles?

Another morning again after 24 hours. As I was looking in the kitchen of  what I could have for breakfast this morning. Found a packet of (ramen) Mamee Chef Curry Laksa Flavour/Perisa Kari Laksa hiding in between the rest of the instant noodles arranged nicely in a tupperware. After reading the ingredients I started to cook, and in few minutes the noodles are ready to be serve. Add an egg to get extra flavour from the soup. While I was eating, I found some mini "tau fu pok"... ohh they were such cutie. Never seen such small "tau fu pok" before.

How to make instant noodles? The answer is here

If we use the correct ways and timing when cooking instant noodles, we will definately enjoy the masterpiece of the noodles and the taste will turn out yumm! Happy trying.

Early Lunch at Nam Fatt Fish Ball Noodle House (南发鱼丸面餐馆), Jalan kampar

As we were about to go out for late breakfast, I told my daughter I would want to go to go to the famous Big Tree Foot a.k.a. Dai Shu Geok at Pasir Pinji, Ipoh. After parking our car, we went in the stall but looked like stall was just opened and most of the deep fried fish paste stuffed yong tau fu were not ready yet.

We had no other choice but to look for somewhere else to eat. I was getting very hungry already and so after we found a good car park, we entered Nam Fatt Fish Ball Noodle House at Jalan Kampar. This was the first time I've been there if I could recalled. Found a place to sit easily as there were not many people at this hour. From late breakfast now we would be having early lunch. We ordered some stuffed yong tau fu and a bowl of fish ball noodles.

From what I've heard, Nam Fatt Fish Ball Noodle House was first opened since more than 20 years ago from just a fish ball noodle stall  to an air-conditioned restaurant. No doubt their food taste good and I will surely come here again soon. Most probably next weekend. Hope we can get a place to sit as easily as today.

This place is worth visiting for those who love Yong Tau Foo.

A trip to Primavet for heartworm prevention jab - What is heartworm in cats & dogs?

Last year when we took Iris to the vet for a jab to prevent heartworm or a type of parasite roundworm, we thought it would be another 365 days before she takes her annual injection again but we were wrong. Time passes so quickly and it's another year already. We took her to Primavet again on October 11, 2013. Sometimes I wonder if the annual injection is really effective.

To find out and understand more what is heartworm in cats & dogs all we have to know is just read an article below that I found during surfing earlier on.

Looking for Laundry Service in Kuching?

My daily alarm, Iris was not her usual self. She woke me up much earlier this morning about 6.00 am. Feeling hungry at this hour? Couldn't believe she was doing this to me when I was in the middle of a good sleep. Forced myself to wake up. After feeding her, I put the laundry in the washing machine. I only realized it was not working after a while when there was no sound to be heard from the machine. I tried to restart again and again.

In the end I got fed up and used  hand wash. Finished washing at about 6.45 am. Hope the washing machine will be working again as usual tomorrow morning during laundry time.

At the mean time, I search for places for Laundry Service, just in case when I am running out of strength using hand wash.

IRIS, my daily alarm clock

Nowadays I hardly have enough sleep as Iris will be giving me morning call at the same time each morning. But today she woke me up extremely early, about 6.10am. I wonder if she was hungry or just did not have a good night sleep last night. Could it be she can sense that we are taking her to the vet for Heart Pro jab?

She did not scratch much this morning, again I assume she doesn't want to take allergy medicine. But all this is just what I thought. Time is passing so quickly without me realizing. I'm a bit hungry now. Will just steam the "Lo Mai Kai" that we bought yesterday at one of the stalls. Hope it tasted better than the last time.

Will get ready her cargo cage to put in the car soon. Till another time.

I love rainbow agar-agar

Remember I said I entered Taka Bakery finally because I wanted to see more of the cookies that are nicely packed in containers.. I ended up buying a pack of rainbow jelly or it is known as agar-agar pelangi. It was so nicely prepared and packed. Without thinking for a long time I took one of those in the fridge and paid. The price for the agar- agar was quite reasonable. Only RM7.50.. seriously, if I were to make some of those I don't think with that amount of money used I can make such nice agar-agar. There are so much work involved. Each time before pouring the next layer on top of another jelly it needs time for it to cool and harden a bit first. By the time one finishes pouring all the layers, buying from the bakery shop is even a faster job.

Just taken out from the quick chiller and ready to be cut

It has been cut and served on a mini plate.. the plate was given freemany many years back when I bought Lee Kum Kee premium oyster sauce. Rencently they are giving a small bowl with any purchase of LKK premium oyster sauce too.The weather is getting warmer and warmer nowadays. Must drink plenty of water. Maybe about 12 glasses per day or more.

Till another updates.

Lunch at Ting Hao Jusco Ipoh - Shrimp With Tofu Stir-Fry Recipe

After watching the movie "MIRROR MIRROR" we went to have our lunch at Ting Hao Jusco. I ordered Shrimp with Tofu Shir-Fry at Ting Hao Jusco. This was the second time I ordered the same menu here in a week. To those who have not tried eating this menu, I can say it is worth ordering as I think it is not a bad choice. Remember to eat it with "chilli padi" then it will be more yummy.

Introducing Iris, my good friend

It has been a long time since I last updated my blog. Today I am going to write something brief about my new friend, Iris given by a good friend of mine on June 2, 2012. It has been three and half months since Iris has been staying with us. Time passes so quickly and before I realized, Iris will be 5 months old in two days time.

Let me tell you something about her. She is fierce, aggresive but  at times she is very obedient and will sit stilll to listen what I am trying to tell her.

Profile/Biography:

Name: Iris
Date of Birth: April 16, 2012
Mother's Name: Gah Teng (died of unknown sickness - sudden death when Iris was about two months old)
Father: Jungle dog
Name given by Fiona
Breed: Local
Markings/Colors: White with brown spots
Health record: Demodicosis
Favourite color: Green
Favourite drink: Warm water
Dislike: Dog's cane, Left alone
Diet: Salmon & Lamb Meal with Rice Biscuits (Blackwood) mix with milk for breakfast and porridge for dinner.
Nap time: From 1.00 - 4.00 pm daily
Sleeping time: 12.30 am - 7.15am ( wakes up every now - she is a light sleeper

Iris will only bark at certain people whom she feels is dangerous or unsafe to her. She don't bark at cats.
Her response when she sees me taking treats to feed her.

She will not disturb us whenever we have our meals. She will just sit somewhere to wait for her turn and when will her turn be? She knows whenever it's her dinner time. After the opening theme of the sinetron after 7.00 pm she will start barking non stop until she sees her food. She finished eating and did everything she needs to do in less than 20 minutes. That's what is so special about her. She will try not to let me wait.

There's really a lot more about her but I just do not know how to put in words over here. Will post more photos of her from time to time whenever I can. Till another post.

More pictures of her today
